Snow Park:

Valle Nevado has one of the best snow parks in South America, designed for Freestyle Tricks and for intermediate and expert riders. It includes boxes, jumps, trails, and rails for different levels.

Intermediate: rollers, two boxes, rainbow, mini boxes, wall riders and three jumps.

Advanced: Two rails with box, step jumps, and a quarter-pipe.

Location: Next to the Condonga lift between the Andes Express lift and Cima Prado.

Bumps and off-piste:

Valle Nevado offers extensive off-piste runs and obstacles of different sizes with great quality snow and easy terrian.

How to get there?

60 kms from Santiago

Take the Costanera Norte thoroughfare East until reaching La Dehesa Sur, Turn Left at  the stoplight at ave. Las Condes and take the road to Farellones.

Continue until curve 40 and the right-hand turnoff to Valle Nevado, and continue for 15 minutes until reaching the resort.

We recommend you obtain friction chains for your vehicle’s wheels in case you need them.

PORTILLO SKI RESORT

The Portillo Ski Area in Chile is the oldest center in South America. With its extraordinary beauty and its world-class skiing and snowboarding it is a popular attraction!

There are 35 runs featured in the ski area, all ofwhich are cleaned every night. There is also plenty of skiing on unpacked runs and off piste.  Nothing is quite like a powder day in Portillo.

How to get there?

165 kms from Santiago

Follow Américo Vespucio towards the north. This will take you down “La Piramide” and past the Cuidad Empresarial. Exit to the “Los Libertadores” highway (just after the entrance to the Mall Plaza Norte). Follow the highway towards the city of Los Andes. At Los Andes, turn right and follow the international route to the east through the mountains towards the city of Mendoza, Argentina. Portillo is approximately 5 km from the Chile/Argentina border.

The roads are in very good condition. However, the altitude and weather conditions during the winter can be dangerous, so we recommend that you obtain friction chains for your vehicle in case you need them. At the Guardia Vieja road check, the Carabineros de Chile(police) may ask you if you have them.

EL COLORADO

This Ski resort is the most famous in all of Chile. It easily has the biggest snowpark in the whole country! It is also the largest in South America, with trails for every level of snowboarder and skier.

There are more than 22 modules in Colorado Park, for all levels, between the rails and boxes.

How to get there?

From Santiago, only 39 Kms (1 hours aprox).

Go to east along the paved road to Farellones, traveling 35 km to reach the village and 5 km more to arrive at El Colorado ski resort

During the winter, the tire chains are mandatory and traffic circulation is allowed to go up from 8am to 2pm and down from 2pm to 8pm.

LOS PENITENTES

It is located only 4 kilometers from Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Americas at 6,959 m and it is only 174 kilometers from Mendoza, Argentina.

How to get there?

You have to take the route 7 to Argentina, from Los Andes to Penitentes are 82 kms (1 hours aprox)

TIPS

  • Don’t waste your money!!!!! Food and drinks are very expensive at the ski resorts so you should bring your own food.
  • Some roads to the ski resorts are very curvy and some people get can get dizzy.  A cool trick is to chew on a lemon and your dizziness will disappear!
  • For sleeping, you can park in a parking lot or another cool place you find and sleep in your van.
  • It is important to drive carefully because the roads have sharp curves.
  • It is necessary to use chains when the weather is bad. Please make sure you have some for your tires!
  • You can rent everything you need at the resorts, but at the ski resorts outside Santiago, you can rent in the stores on Avenida Las Condes. It is cheaper than renting in the mountains.
  • There are many different night clubs and bars. Enjoy yourself!
